چکیده
Results Of 32 ICU's, 19 completed the survey (59%), one was excluded as the hospital did not receive emergency admissions. The hospitals had a mean of 374 beds and the ICU's had a mean of 9.4 beds. Three hospitals had an invasive cardiology department. Seventeen departments (94%) had introduced TH; the first department introduced it in 2002. The number of patients treated with TH ranged between "a few" and 250. Five (29%) departments began TH in the pre-hospital phase, seven in the emergency department (41%) and five in the ICU (29%).

The Practice of Therapeutic Hypothermia after Cardiac Arrest in France: A National Survey
AIMS Cardiac arrest is a major health concern worldwide accounting for 375,000 cases per year in Europe with a survival rate of <10%. Therapeutic hypothermia has been shown to improve patients' neurological outcome and is recommended by scientific societies. Despite these guidelines, different surveys report a heterogeneous application of this treatment. The aim of the present study was to eval...
متن کاملPediatric critical care community survey of knowledge and attitudes toward therapeutic hypothermia in comatose children after cardiac arrest.
OBJECTIVE Therapeutic hypothermia improves neurologic outcome and survival after adult out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. To help us design a prospective hypothermia trial in children, we developed a survey to assess current knowledge and attitude of pediatric critical care providers regarding therapeutic hypothermia and potential impediments to implementing a prospective study. DESIGN Anonymous...
متن کاملUse of therapeutic hypothermia after in-hospital cardiac arrest: did the physicians know the guidelines?
OBJECTIVES Formal guidelines recommend that therapeutic hypothermia be considered after in-hospital cardiac arrest. The rate of therapeutic hypothermia use after in-hospital cardiac arrest and details about its implementation are unknown. We aimed to determine the use of therapeutic hypothermia for adult in-hospital cardiac arrest, whether use has increased over time, and to identify factors as...

Objective(s): The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of mild hypothermia on expression of NF-E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) and heme-oxygenase-1 (HO-1) of rat cerebral cortex and hippocampus after cardiopulmonary resuscitation and further investigate the possible mechanism of action. Material and Methods:To copy an asphyxia heart arrest model, Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided...
متن کاملTherapeutic hypothermia after cardiac arrest.
Recent evidence supports the use of therapeutic hypothermia after cardiac arrest. This article reviews recent published studies and describes the pathophysiology of hypothermia. Nurses need to understand the physiology of hypothermia to provide care for patients receiving therapeutic hypothermia. A suggested protocol is included to help manage the care of these patients.
